In an effort to use my scrapbook stash, create more & spend less (HA, that's a good one)- I resolve that I will complete 5 projects or pages before buying another scrapbook item. Exceptions include using coupons, which is opposed to my friend Sherri's challenge (sorry), buying the latest of my 3 favorite scrap magazines, Freaky Fridays(if I'm going to drive all that way, you'd better believe I'm buying something!), purchasing for my Secret Sister & items for completing the project or page I have under way.
I've been going thru some of my older stash- the stuff I had placed in the garage over the course of 3 summers, hoping to get rid of most at garage sales. I donated alot to my kids school fundraiser garage sale- should have donated more. I have a totefull of stuff I still like & would like to use. My goal is to use some in at least the next 3 projects.
I CAN DO THIS.
So much for the photo a day challenge...that one went POOF when I couldn't figure out how to post muliple photos.
It's been quite the year so far. Too many events to mention, too many stories left untold, but there are always the photos. :) I have purchased the books "Photo Freedom" and "The Organized and Inspired Scrapbooker" in the hopes that I will find my niche in the 2 Little Z's scrap space. So far, I have lots of things going on in my head, not a whole lot going on IRL. The scraproom is still a mess (as are the bedrooms & the dining room) but I've completed several LO's in the process. I guess that's progress.
I met the wonderfully talented Valerie Salmon at MegaMeet this year. I've been awe-d by her amazing sketches and fantastic LO's since PaperKuts magazine was still in existance. Now, she's part of the creative team at BHG Scrapbooks, Etc and Fiskars. Just love her stuff & she is such a sweetie. Another BIG moment was taking the Stacy Julian class, Finish Line Scrapbooks. Nancy & I sat right up in front- and Stacy used Nancy's photos as an example of how to do focus cropping. I must admit, I was a bit intimidated by all the cropping & the fast pace...but my Las Vegas album is "almost finished" and I'm happy to say- I LIKE IT.
I read on some message board that someone was using their blog as a journaling tool. I can see how that would work for me. I often forget the little things that happen day to day- and when I want to scrap the events of day to day (whenever that happens) if I were to look up a day on my blog-- I'd figure it out. COOL!
Today is Memorial Day. I'm thankful to all those men & women who serve our country, without them this country wouldn't be what it is. Remembering past Memorial Day activities like Dad's bar-BQ and spending the mornings tracking down cemetery plots. I wish I could remember where those plots are...like Aunt Caroline's or Uncle Esmael's. I'm glad my Dad is right here with me. Saves me the time to look, ya know?!
Okay, off to make some Memorial Day 2008 memories. I'll try to post photos tomorrow.
